SYSTEMS ENGINEER: MP BROAD BAND
Defence Institute, a division of Armscor Business, has 2 vacancies for
Systems Engineers. The purpose of the job is to support Product System
Managers (PSM) in the systems engineering role and to advise the PSMT
(Product Systems Management Team) on all systems engineering aspects.
CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Provide technical leadership in the field of system integration
- Integrate design at high functional level
- Provide quality, cost effective and timely inputs, advice and
solutions to projects
- Provide inputs to OT & E (Operational Test & Evaluation) and
Operation Test & qualification (QT & Q)
- Act as a mentor and coach to new employees (as may be required)
- Continually liaise and communicate with clients
- Interpret and integrate management data and produce management
information for the product systems
- Manage PS Managing projects (as may be required)
EXPERT ABILITIES & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Engineering degree (or equivalent)
- 3-5 years' experience in Systems Engineering, Systems Engineering
Management, Baseline Management, Logistic Support, RAM, OT &Q, Technical
Specification and Interface Management as systems levels 4 and higher
- Knowledge of Military structures, doctrine & systems
- Knowledge of LCC (life cycle costing) modelling
- How to think creatively so as to formulate new and improved
concepts, ideas and processes
- Knowledge of Management Information systems
- Numerical skills, business awareness, self sufficiency
- Computer literacy
- Project Management skills
